How to use the search palette (⌘K) to find claims by patient name and jump anywhere in the dashboard.

Written by Nanda Guntupalli

The fastest way to move around Taiga on a tablet or a computer is the search palette. Open it by clicking Search claims at the top of the sidebar, or press ⌘ K on Mac (Ctrl K on Windows) from any page.

Finding a claim

Start typing a patient's name. After a couple of characters, matching claims appear with the patient's name, the claim's current status, the date of service, and the billed amount. Select one to open its detail page.

If nothing matches what you typed, press Enter to widen the search — the palette takes you to the Claims page with your text applied as a full search, where you can add filters like status, payer, or date of service.

Jumping to a page

With nothing typed, the palette shows quick links:

  • Go to — Overview, Claims, Providers, and Facilities

  • Claims — one-keystroke shortcuts to pre-filtered claim lists: Submitted claims, Paid claims, Denied claims, and Claims awaiting info

Use the arrow keys to highlight a link and press Enter, or click it.

On a phone

A phone doesn't show the sidebar, so the palette has its own way in: tap More in the bar at the bottom of the screen, then Search claims and patients at the top. Same palette, same results — only ⌘ K is missing, since it needs a keyboard. Searching from the pages themselves is unchanged too: the search box and filter bar on Claims, Patients, and Queues work exactly as they do on a computer.

Tips

  • The palette searches claims by patient name; for anything else — CPT codes, payers, amounts — use the filters on the Claims page or ask the Reports page a question in plain English.

  • Esc closes the palette; ⌘ K also toggles it closed.
