Granting Taiga administrator access in eClinicalWorks

How to add a Taiga user in eClinicalWorks and give them permission to manage security settings.

Written by Nanda Guntupalli

Taiga needs one eClinicalWorks account that can open the Admin band and change security settings. An existing eClinicalWorks administrator must complete these steps.

Add a Taiga staff user

  1. Log in to eClinicalWorks with an administrator account.

  2. Open the Admin band, then User Admin → Staff.

  3. Click Add Staff.

  4. Enter Guntupalli as the Last Name, Nanda as the First Name, [email protected] as the email, and choose the Primary Service Location.

  5. Under Login Info, enter taigabilling as the Username, create a Password, and leave Status set to Active.

  6. Under Security, choose Copy Security Settings Via Template and select Administrator Template. This is only a starting point — the next section turns on the settings that let Taiga manage permissions.

  7. Complete the captcha and click OK.

Grant permission to manage security

Copying the Administrator Template is not enough on its own. The Taiga user also needs these three settings so they can open User Security later without help.

  1. Open Menu → File → Security Settings. If prompted, sign in to eClinicalWorks Administrator.

  2. Select By User.

  3. Expand Staff and select the Taiga account you just created.

  4. Search for Administration and select its Permission checkbox.

  5. Search for Manage access to admin band and select its Permission checkbox.

  6. Search for Manage Security and select its Permission checkbox.

  7. Click Save.

The Taiga user may need to sign out and back in before the Admin band appears. Once it does, they can change additional eClinicalWorks permissions themselves.
