Granting Taiga administrator access in Waystar

How to add a Taiga user in Waystar, give them access to your accounts, and assign administrator permissions.

Written by Nanda Guntupalli

Taiga needs its own Waystar login to manage claims, remits, enrollments, and account access. Do not share an existing team member's username or password. A current Waystar Domain Administrator or Security Manager must complete these steps.

Note: These instructions are based on Waystar's 2021 user-management documentation. Waystar may have changed the names or locations of some settings since that guide was published.

Add a Taiga user

  1. Sign in through Waystar's login page.

  2. Under the Waystar logo, select Account.

  3. Select Security from the menu below Account.

  4. In the Users section, select New User next to the green plus sign.

  5. Under General, enter:

    • User Name: taigabilling

    • First Name: Nanda

    • Last Name: Guntupalli

    • Leave the default Account and Pool ID values in place.

  6. Create a temporary password that follows the requirements shown by Waystar. Do not reuse a password from your own account.

  7. Leave the three options below the password fields selected, then select Save General Setting.

If taigabilling is unavailable, use [email protected] as the username and tell your Taiga onboarding contact which username you chose.

Give Taiga access to your accounts

  1. Open the new user's Accounts tab.

  2. Select every Waystar account that Taiga should manage. If your organization has parent and child accounts, select each account that should appear in the user's account dropdown.

  3. Save the account selections.

Grant administrator permissions

  1. Open the new user's Roles tab.

  2. Assign the Security Manager role. This grants full permissions and lets Taiga add users or reset passwords when needed, so you do not have to repeat this process for each member of our billing team.

  3. Save the role changes.

If you cannot see Account → Security, ask your current Waystar Domain Administrator or Security Manager to add the user. Waystar Support can also help identify your account's administrator.

Share the temporary password

Email the temporary password in plain text to [email protected]. Taiga will change it after signing in.

Once Taiga confirms that the login works, no further action is required.
